Things You Can Do At the Honeymoon Island Hotel

The History of Honeymoon Island State Park, Florida; in the early 1500s, Spanish explorers visited the Island and met the Islands first inhabitants. These were Native Americans who were a local Safety Harbor tribe called Tocobagos. Artifacts such as skeletal remains were found on the Island Park.

The state prevented the developer from renewing the permit and purchased most of the Island in 1974, then the state later purchased the rest.
